Now, I know I've posted awhile ago asking if the fight aainst something like Communism was worth the time and effort, or were there other battles worth fighting.
This is differen't, and I am no trying to defend either side of the conflict or direct Communism's negative attention.
On to the point.
This article newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/4/5/102446.shtml
I have come across just recently, and as I am so 'in love' you could say (for lack of a better term) with Russia, it is a somewhat scary thought. But the main reason I am posting this is because I am wondering. Is the fall of the Soviet Union (more specifically the fall of the biggest Communist power in the world) important enough to cause such a catastrophe as Russia 'breaking up.'(The reason I am not summarizing the article is because I want people to actually read it, I know some people are lazy, but, just give it a glance *is a lazy one*)
Now before I continue, I know that there are no doubt faults with this article, and I in know way believe every word of it. I am just speculating, and well, making discussion.
Continueing, I say catastrophe, because with Russia's rutheless history, almost rutheless present (meaning life in Russia is still brutal due to crime and corruption and such) and the general state Russia is currently in, Russia breaking up and becoming some governmentless, or lawless country, -is a huge deal.- It is for any country of course, but with Russia especially. Such a large country with such a large population, we would be looking, at a much larger, much more dangerous Iraq. Not America's war, I mean the internal struggles Iraq faces. Meaning, suicide bombers, mass slaughters, etc...
Of course thats all obvious. (Just felt a need to state said obviousness.)
But as for my question, is the fall of the Soviet Union, again the biggest Communist superpower in the world, worth the possibility of "Russia dissapearing as a unified state."
Or would it be better that the Communist government (Much improved by the time it fell) stayed in power, providing a 'stable' and concrete, though in some eyes not the best, form of government and power over Russia?
Discuss
(again, Russia may have a gentle ride from power to power, and none of these problems carry on, or it could not and the fall of Russia may occur, who knows, just up for discussion.)
